The Westover Board of Directors voted to amend the Architectural Review Guidelines Article VII Section 7.2 Mailboxes/Street Numbers, effective January 1, 2007. The complete Covenants and Guidelines can be located at www.westoverpoa.org
Background: Mailboxes began to be changed without the Approval of the Architectural Review Committed and many did not meet the guidelines outlined in the Covenants. There are also a number of Mailboxes in the neighborhood that are in poor condition. Despite numerous attempts to notify residents of violations, mailboxes continued to be changed to non-compliant types or not repaired at all.
The WPOA Board of Directors has also received feedback from agents showing homes in our area and the inconsistency in mailboxes, and deteriorating conditions is a deterrent to potential buyers.
After over three years of research and discussion the WPOA Board of Directors voted to amend the existing covenants to a maintenance free type of mailbox for all homeowners.
